Sometimes you win!
Earlier this year, we submitted our 2016 Chardonnay to a wine tasting competition in New York City sponsored by The Fifty Best, a travel and lifestyle company that rates top competitors in Wine, Spirits, Cocktails, Food, Restaurants, etc. etc. See thefiftybest.com. A panel of 12 judges blind tasted the Chardonnay’s entered in the competition. In total, 26 California Chardonnays received recognition across 4 medal categories: Double Gold, Gold, Silver and Bronze.
Five Chardonnays received the highest Double Gold Medal, including our own 2016 Silverpoint Cellars Chardonnay (Petaluma Gap, Sonoma County). Yeah! Comments included praise of our Chardonnay’s finish…..”creamy, oak, balanced, clean, nice, soft, big, tasty.”
We had never entered a wine tasting competition before. So happy to win.
