Last Thursday, we bottled our 2011 Napa Valley Red Wine. Hooray!
Grapes for this second vintage of our Red Wine were harvested 3 1/2 years ago. Thereafter, they were aged for 2 years in barrels reserved for each varietal: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc. We then created our proprietary blend of these four wines and aged that blend for another year in barrels. At last, into bottles last week for further aging.
Had our first taste this last weekend. It was worth the wait. Elegant, balanced and complex. Stay tuned for the late 2015 release of Silverpoint Cellars Napa Valley Red Wine (2011)!
